The Norman medieval town of Trim is situated
in Meath, a county rich in cultural heritage and tradition. The
famous Hill of
Tara is located,there, once the home,of the High Kings of Ireland,
hence Meath's title - The Royal County. For the sportsperson,
Trim has many beautiful fly and coarse fishing rivers and
lakes as well as an excellent golf course which can be enjoyed
by both the high handicapper and professional alike. All these
sports facilities are within easy driving distance of the town
of Trim. All in all, Trim is ideally located to meet the requirements

Trim, is the Newgrange Monument, attracting visitors from

burial site is in fact older than the Pyramids of Egypt and one

Located in the centre of Trim a town dominated by the remains
of King John's castle is Trim Castle. This is a pre-historic
monument with its round towers and high crosses. The Royal County
also boasts the heritage town of Kells, famous for its association
with the Book of Kells, which is only a drive away from the Wellington
Court Hotel. Also nearby is Slane Castle - site for major music concerts
and Dalgan Park - home to missionaries and priests and open today
as a visitor centre. Sonairte - Irelands National Ecology Centre,
not to mention four stunning gardens, Hill of Tara ( Site of
the residence of the High Kings of Ireland ) and the Hill of
Slane on which St. Patrick lit the Pascal Fire - introducing
the advent of Catholicism.
The
region is equally noted for its wonderful sporting
and recreational attractions. For the racing
enthusiast, Navan Racecourse is only a short distance
away and Fairyhouse, home
of the Irish Grand National
is only a short drive from the Hotel. There are also
numerous equestrian establishments nearby.
There is also superb game, coarse and sea angling to
cater for the
specialist, experienced and novice anglers alike.
